Rory Hickson Speed set to 235kts (in anticipation of the stormy dbn weather tonight). Speed still flagged as overspeed descending through the turbulence. speed bufer of +-5kts really needs to be coded into SmartCARTS. Awesome flight and approach with 14kts crosswind. Logging the flight only to avoid been kicked out of SAAV (its been a busy 2 months!)
Ian Carine Hello Rory. While we appreciate your efforts at remaining current (we would not have deleted you without warning anyway!) standards have to be maintained and 12(!) over-speeds is not acceptable from a Captain. As your first excursion was at 9900ft you must have been very close to 250kts passing FL100 leaving no margin. As far as I know it is not possible to apply a "tolerance" factor within snartCARS. You need to be well below 250kts passing FL110 to be safe. Regards, Ian
